RCMA receives grant from The League Club for school expansion

League Club 1 big

RCMA recently received a $25,000 grant from the League Club of Naples toward expenses related to reconfiguring and expansion of its Immokalee Community Academy. The charter school, established in 2000, now serves more than 300 students in kindergarten through 8th grade. RCMA was one of 33 agencies in Collier County funded by grants from the League Club.

The overall project costs of $906,000 have been offset by additional grants fro m Lipman Family Farms, Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation, Weller Family Foundation, and a previous Collier Community Foundation grant.

“We are very grateful to the League Club for their generosity,” said Isabel Garcia, Executive Director at RCMA. “Thanks to their gift, we have been able to add several new classrooms, office space, and even a music room for our students. The scholars are extremely happy about that!”

RCMA is a nationally recognized charter school operator, with a second school in Wimauma located in southeastern Hillsborough County, and a third opening this fall in Mulberry. The Immokalee and Wimauma Community Academies were originally chartered in 2000. With a combined enrollment of more than 500 students, the schools provide a seamless transition for children as they progress from RCMA’s early childhood and pre-kindergarten programs into elementary school.
