RCMA Academies Excel in Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FAST)

A grade opt

IMMOKALEE, FL – July 25, 2024 – RCMA (Redlands Christian Migrant Association), Florida’s largest provider of child education, celebrates the outstanding performance of its dual language academies in the 2023-2024 Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FAST) evaluations.

RCMA’s Immokalee Community Academy (ICA) achieved a prestigious A grade on the FAST assessment, while Wimauma Community Academy (WCA) earned a very high B grade. These impressive results reflect the hard work and dedication of the teachers, staff, and students at these academies.

The Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FAST) is a comprehensive, statewide assessment program designed to measure student progress and proficiency in English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, and Science. The assessment provides valuable insights into student learning and helps educators tailor instruction to meet individual needs.

Isabel Garcia, Executive Director of RCMA, expressed her gratitude and pride in the accomplishments of the academies:

“We are incredibly proud of our students, teachers, and staff at Immokalee Community Academy and Wimauma Community Academy,” she said. “Their commitment to excellence and tireless dedication have led to these outstanding results. Achieving an A grade at ICA and a high B grade at WCA is a testament to their hard work, resilience, and the supportive learning environment we strive to create at RCMA.

“We also want to acknowledge the efforts of our Mulberry Community Academy, which opened last year and did not participate in this year’s assessment due to having only kindergarten and first-grade students. We look forward to their future successes as they grow.”

RCMA operates more than 50 child development centers across the state of Florida and three academies, providing high-quality educational opportunities from infancy through 8th grade. The organization’s holistic approach not only focuses on academic achievement but also on supporting the families of their students, ensuring a comprehensive and nurturing educational experience.
