RCMA’s Immokalee Community Academy (ICA) has received a 15-year charter contract renewal from the Collier County Public School Board, marking a major milestone for the school and the families it serves.
The long-term renewal recognizes ICA’s strong record of student success. The school has earned two straight “A” grades from the Florida Department of Education and has been named a high-achieving school by the state. These honors reflect the strong academic growth of the school’s K–8 scholars.
The renewal also comes during a special year for the school. ICA is celebrating 25 years of serving students and families in the Immokalee community.
“This renewal is an important moment for our school and our community,” said Juana Brown, Director of Charter Schools at RCMA. “It shows what can happen when teachers, staff, families, and students work together. We are proud of the growth our students are making every day.”
ICA is led by Principal Zulaika Quintero, whose leadership has helped guide the school to continued success. Brown also recognized Ashley Johnson, RCMA’s Charter Network Principal Manager, for helping strengthen instruction and support across the charter school network.
ICA is a dual-language community school, where students learn in both English and Spanish. This approach helps students build strong academic skills while also celebrating the languages and cultures of the community.
“Our scholars work hard, and our teachers believe in them,” Brown said. “This renewal is a celebration of the entire ICA community and the bright future ahead for our students.”
ICA is operated by RCMA, a nonprofit organization that provides education and family services to children from low-income families across Florida.
