RCMA’s Immokalee Community Academy (ICA) recently welcomed members of Greater Naples Leadership (GNL) for a meaningful visit as part of their day-long exploration of Immokalee. GNL, a group of accomplished professionals dedicated to strengthening Collier County through civic engagement, spent time at ICA learning about RCMA’s mission, meeting some of its remarkable students, and being entertained by them as well.
During their visit, GNL members toured the campus, engaged with students, and gained insight into the challenges faced by farmworker families. Their experience extended beyond the classroom as they ventured into the fields of Immokalee to pick peppers, offering them a firsthand understanding of the demanding labor that supports Florida’s agricultural industry. The day concluded at Roberts Ranch, where they reflected on their experience and took home some of the fresh vegetables harvested from Immokalee’s fields.
“We are grateful to Greater Naples Leadership for taking the time to visit and immerse themselves in the daily life of the families we serve,” said Isabel Garcia, Executive Director at RCMA. “Their willingness to learn and engage helps build a stronger, more connected community.”
RCMA appreciates the commitment of organizations like GNL, whose leaders use their experience and resources to support meaningful causes. We look forward to continued collaboration in creating opportunities for children and families in Immokalee!
