RCMA PROGRAMS IMPACT
Open doors to opportunities
From three modest child-care centers with 75 children in 1965, RCMA today serves nearly 4,600+ children of migrant farm workers and rural, low-income families in more than 54 centers throughout Florida Children in our centers range from 6 weeks to 12 years old. RCMA’s inclusion of children with disabilities, beginning with infants and toddlers, has been recognized as a model within Florida.
With more than 480 students, our 3 charter schools provide a seamless transition for children as they progress from RCMA’s early childhood and pre-kindergarten programs into elementary school.
RCMA also offers voluntary pre-kindergarten services to all eligible 4 year olds in our programs.
RCMA offers programs for parents, too, so they can improve their English, finish their schooling (both through the Florida and Mexico school systems) and improve their literacy.
We have strong partnerships with Head Start, Florida’s Office of Early Learning, local Early Learning Coalitions, the Mexican Consulates in Orlando and Miami, Florida agriculture, community-based organizations and school districts.
More than half of RCMA’s childcare centers have been nationally accredited, reflecting standards and achievements that exceed state licensing requirements.
Early Childhood
The most fertile time for learning in a person’s life is during their early childhood years. Because of the rapid brain growth at this age, the environmental impacts on learning are far greater than any other moment. That’s why RCMA provides ways for families to get their small children the education they need during these crucial years of development.
Family
At RCMA, we don’t just help families get education for their children, we also give them the resources they need to be fully supportive of their children’s educational journey. Simply sending a child to school isn’t enough – providing a nurturing environment and attitude makes a huge difference for their success.
Staff
Many of our staff first became a part of the RCMA family as children, and now they are serving the family that served them. Helping other children and families leverage their strengths and reach their goals has become their life’s work. The programs we offer for staff help provide the framework for making the transition from alumni to a passionate staff member.
Alumni
Connecting with others who’ve shared much of the same journey in life provides us with a sense of community and belonging. It also helps us build strong networks of like-minded people working toward common goals. If you’d like to reconnect with fellow alumni, we welcome you to join our community of those who’ve grown with RCMA’s help.
Charter Schools
RCMA Charter Schools are committed to excellence in education. Students will be educated to reach their potential as individuals, have life choices and opportunities for success.
