History in the Making as RCMA’s First Charter School Announces Grand Opening

Mulberry Community Academy (MCA), one of the Academies of RCMA, will celebrate its grand opening on October 25 with a special celebration. The event will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the school, 4441 Academy Drive in Mulberry.

Guests will have an opportunity to tour the new facility, visit the Child Development Center located on campus, and see renderings of the permanent building which will begin construction once funding is in place. The school currently offers a bilingual curriculum for kindergarten and first grade, with plans to eventually expand to eighth grade.

“This is a historic day for Mulberry and for RCMA,” says Isabel Garcia, Executive Director at RCMA. “Imagine the potential of a child in rural Florida growing with the belief that they can achieve anything. That is our goal at RCMA. The education we provide and the support services we offer the families increase opportunities for the entire community. With a specialized learning approach that holistically helps migrant working families, we are able to educate the leaders of tomorrow.”

MCA is RCMA’s third charter school, with additional charter schools in Immokalee and Wimauma. RCMA is Florida’s largest nonprofit provider of quality early childhood education and is a nationally recognized charter school operator. RCMA serves people in rural areas living in poverty, primarily migrant and agricultural working families.
