IMMOKALEE (March 23) – RCMA announces that the Collier Community Foundation provided a $25,000 grant for improvements at its Immokalee Community Academy. The funding supports the two-phase renovation of its existing building to create additional classrooms to accommodate ICA’s new middle school program. This will make RCMA a K-8 school by August of 2023, serving about 325 students.
“We are grateful to the Collier Community Foundation for helping us serve up to 80 more students with our bilingual, bicultural curriculum,” says Isabel Garcia, executive director. “This expansion project will meet the needs of our community by increasing educational opportunities for middle schoolers that need it the most. It will also help us provide more technological resources.”
There is only one other middle school in Immokalee and it serves more than 1,700 students.
