PURPOSE OF POSITION: The Food and Nutrition Services Manager oversees all aspects of RCMA’s USDA Child Care Food Program; including planning, implementation, and monitoring of all food service guidelines in alignment with RCMA’s mission and vision. The job functions include agency-wide data collection and database administration, reporting, and evaluating the program in order to meet the nutritional and educational needs of children.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. However, other duties may be assigned.
- Serve as the primary point of contact and advisor for RCMA’s Child Care Food Program (CCFP). Remain informed on all applicable rules and regulations.
- Manage all aspects of the Child Care Food Program including, but not limited to submitting sponsor applications and provider contracts for child care centers; processing USDA reimbursement for RCMA-sponsored child care centers; completion of all required invoices and reports; development and distribution of food service menus; leading program audits; and maintaining a list of approved food supply vendors.
- Develop policies and procedures for food safety and nutrition in alignment with RCMA funders, childcare licensing, and USDA and Department of Health standards for each program.
- Regularly evaluate child nutrition services using all available data including but not limited to meal counts, regional and charter analysis of monitoring results, training evaluations, and financial statements. Plan and carry out program improvements related to reimbursement, menu planning, food supply vendor selection, and related policies and procedures.
- Provider leadership and training to Regional Team administrative staff on USDA requirements.
- Maintain compliance with USDA recordkeeping requirements. Collect, track, and analyze documentation from Regional Teams on training, monitoring, and meal counts.
- Consult with the Business and Finance Team on construction and renovation projects regarding minimum requirements for commercial kitchen equipment and supplies.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition, Public Health, Business Administration, or related field and 3-5 years of documented experience in managing contracts.
