PURPOSE OF POSITION: To maintain a professional, clean and sanitary facility for children, families, staff and visitors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Sanitation and Cleanliness of Facility

  1. Sweep, mop, scrub floors weekly and as needed.
  2. Vacuum hallways, classrooms and any office space bi-weekly or as needed.
  3. Clean bathrooms, hallways, classrooms and any office space.
  4. Empty trash and garbage containers in all areas as specified.
  5. Clean trash receptacles as needed.
  6. Keep outside areas clean and free of trash.
  7. Dust ceiling fans, windows ledge, blinds etc.
  8. Clean doors, windows and glass doors at least once a week.
  9. Regular cleaning of refrigerator, sinks, microwaves at least once a week.
  10. Clean and supply all restrooms daily.
  11. Replace faulty light bulbs.

Maintenance

  1. Replace A/C filters quarterly.
  2. Shampoo carpets and upholstery as needed.
  3. Pressure clean sidewalks as needed.
  4. Water outside & inside plants.
  5. Paint offices as directed. Periodic touch up of paint as needed.
  6. Notify supervisor of any items that need to be replaced or fixed.

Maintain Supplies

  1. Make sure all necessary supplies are fully stocked, i.e. kitchen, bathroom and cleaning supplies.
  2. At a minimum take inventory of supplies, complete supply form and submit to supervisor for ordering.
  3. Other duties as requested.

Other Responsibilities

  1. Adherence to all RCMA funding and DCF requirements.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Member of community being served and, when applicable, farm worker background.
  • Custodial experience preferred including a strong working knowledge of good housekeeping principals.
  • Experience working with cleaning chemicals and machines helpful.
